Grave Record Card for
Marie J. Adams

The data below comprise the entire computerized record that the Society has for the individual buried in this grave.  This data includes information read from grave markers augmented with obituaries, plus contemporary reports, and in many instances genealogical research.  Indeed it is somewhat eclectic.

This information is only lightly documented.  It was gathered from many sources by a host of volunteers over many years.  We believe it is accurate, but it is best considered as an aid in pursuing genealogical and historical researches.

The Society encourages all users to share new new data and send us corrections.  Details hereHelp Button.

The beautiful Marie J. Adams, 65, of Route 43 went into the hands of our Lord on Friday, May 16, 2008, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle against cancer.

Born in Troy, Marie was the daughter of Elizabeth Brown Hoffman of East Nassau and the late Raymond Hoffman and wife of 47 years to Frank H. "Butch" Adams.

Marie grew up in East Nassau and had resided in Stephentown since 1961.

She was a 1960 graduate of Averill Park High School and had worked at the former Faith Mills in Averill Park, the Troy Chamber of Commerce and for Cluett Peabody & co. in Troy before becoming a full-time homemaker.

Marie was the sister of the late Linda Face Wiggins and Cindy Hoffman.

Survivors, in addition to her husband and mother, include her children Christine Hilt of Averill Park, Brian (donna) Adams of Hampton, VA. and Duane (Wendy) Adams of Albany; her grandchildren Kevin, Cindy, Danielle and Nick Hilt and Brianna and Stacy Adams, and her great-grandchildren Dominick III, Kevin Jr. and Tessa. Marie will be missed by her loving canine pups Bambi, Ginger and Chloe.

Funeral services will be at 7 pm Monday at the West Stephentown Baptist Church, 1672 NY 43, West Stephentown. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, West Stephentown.
